Vinton Christmas Parade – Thursday, December 2, 2010
This annual parade is held the first Thursday after Thanksgiving
starting at 7:00 pm. Attended by approximately 11,000 holiday well
wishers, this event is hosted by Vinton Area Chamber of Commerce and
planned and executed by chamber volunteers.
The Parade Route:
The Vinton Christmas Parade begins at 7:00 p.m. at the lower level of
the Roanoke County Career Center (old Wm Byrd HS) across from Holdren’s
Country Store. The parade proceeds east on Gus Nicks Blvd to Downtown
Vinton to the corner of Washington Avenue and Pollard Street. The Parade
turns right onto Pollard Street and goes 3 blocks to Cleveland Avenue;
Turns left and goes 1 block; Turns left onto Maple Street and goes 3
blocks to Washington Avenue; then Turns right onto Washington Avenue and
goes to the Vinton War Memorial where the Vinton Christmas parade ends.
